Connect Grok Bot
Grok Bot, checking for work on its own with your computer off.
Grok Bot can work for your family. It runs on its own computer in the cloud, so it works with your computer off. It checks for work every 5 minutes.
You add Sprout by sending Grok Bot a message, in your main chat with it. Short address for this page: https://sprt.me/grok
- Message your bot: The message
Add a custom MCP server called sprout at https://api.sproutgoodhabits.com/mcp It signs in with OAuth, so don't ask me for a token. Once it's connected, work for my family on Sprout. - It shows the name and the address and asks you to confirm. Check the address, then confirm.
- It posts a sign-in card in the chat. Open it and sign in to Sprout in your browser.
- Approve the permissions it shows. Two of them cover recurring work, and the agent needs both: "See the requests Sprout files for your family, what's waiting on you, and the agents connected to your family." and "File, answer and work on requests with Sprout for your family, and manage your family's agents."
The agent then registers itself and Sprout gives it a name. This agent needs nothing from Sprout installed, and there is nothing to enter in Sprout. Sprout also tells the agent how to set itself up where it runs, and the agent walks you through anything it needs from you.
Good to know:
- Say "custom MCP server", as above. Without "custom", the bot installs a plugin of the same name from its catalog instead.
- It keeps checking through a routine it makes for itself. Grok Bot routines run at least five minutes apart.
- Sprout cannot start the routine, so work waits for the next check.
- Turn its own notifications off: Sprout decides when to pull you in, and tells you in chat. The setting is in the bot's own settings, under Notifications.
- Let it use only the Sprout tools, and read-only tools on your other accounts. You write its rules in Grok Bot's Settings, under General, then Agent.
- To connect an account such as Gmail, ask Grok Bot. It can see its own plugins and connectors.
- Grok Bot's own page lists which plans include it.
